Become A Certified Yoga Teacher Today!
Our 200 Hour Program is an evening and weekend program that is designed to meet the modern lifestyles for most people. It is called WORK!
We have carefully designed a program that allows for the modern-day Yogi to pursue deepening their knowledge of yoga while maintaining the non-interruption of their work schedule.
Weekdays are: Mondays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Thursdays from 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Weekends are: Saturdays from 2:00pm to 7:00pm
Sundays from 12noon to 6:00pm
This affords you the rest of your days and weekends for studying; completing homework assignments; working with your groups; taking as many classes as possible whether online or in person while allowing you quality time to rest.
The program is over a three-month period giving you ample time for learning, processing, assimilating and digesting the materials with greater comfort and ease. It may seem to be a long time, but it goes by rather quickly.
THE 200 HOUR PROGRAM IS FULLY ACCREDITED BY THE YOGA ALLIANCE
The 200 Hour Yoga Program at Triad Yoga & Pilates is unique to most other trainings. At the heart of the training is the underlying theme of mindfulness. Participants are taught to develop a Sattvic approach in leading classes as teachers, and importantly, as practitioners.
We firmly believe that if one’s practice is mindful, the offspring of your teaching will nonetheless bear from that. Our program is generally catering to each student’s unique traits, personalities and learning abilities.
Every student of the training gets the personalized and individualized attention that a program of this nature truly requires and deserves.
Our program chooses from a broad range of Asanas. We do not conform to set sequences. We teach our students to be creative, unique and to meet their teachings from a broad group of poses. This allows them to meet the needs of their students irrespective of abilities, ages, experiences, and other underlying factors such as:
a) The level of their students
b) The time of day of the class
c) The matrix of people in the class
d) The type of class
We have many of our graduates now teaching from basic to advanced classes such as Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga. We teach many fundamental principles of Yoga so our graduates can move forward to both practice and teach various styles, and are not limited to any one particular style or format.
Students of the program are given the entire duration of the program (generally four months) to take as many classes of varying styles ONLINE or live IN PERSON free of charge. The training covers many of the various styles: Vinyasa, Pre-Natal, Restorative, Yin, Senior and other styles taught by our amazing professional staff at Triad Yoga & Pilates.
There are ten required ONLINE classes taken at your will beyond those covered in the program. The students must submit the classes taken to the Director of the program once all ten classes have been taken and satisfied.
As part of the training, you will be taught various Pranyam/Pranyama techniques. Pranyam, is an important element to a mindful practice and teaching.
You are taught:
- how to fully utilize the breath.
- how to naturally heat the body with proper warm-up poses.
- how to connect and sequence Asanas through the bell-shaped curve in effecting the appropriate level, broad range of poses and well-designed class.
Why? We do not teach in a heated room. Careful practice utilizing the breath with appropriate poses and sequences will result in the natural heating of the body releasing muscles, tension and blockages, as well as, improve blood circulation, detoxification of organs and lymph, improve digestion and stimulate the Pita element of our bodies.
The training is mindful & alignment focused covering a broad - ranges of Asanas.
We cover eleven basic categories of poses all of which will be covered in the program.
We will cover the details of each Asana from:
- Alignment - Pratikriyasanas
- Variations - Pronunciation of Sanskrit
- Benefits - Sanskrit-English interpretation
- Cautions - Instructing the pose
- Contraindications - Breath use entering, holding & exiting poses
We provide the tools in creating a full one-hour and half class. Picking from the many categories of poses, you will design a class unique to you but following general yoga standards.
For example, did you know that asymmetrical seated forward bends should be followed up with symmetrical forward bends?
If you did not know, not only will you be taught, but we will let you why. Also, did you know there are some poses to NEVER start a yoga practice with, and some you can always start with?
This is one of the reasons why our program at Triad Yoga & Pilates is simply unique.
We will discuss a broad range of topics:
- Adjustments - The Space
- Class room attire - The Music
- Language - The Lighting
- Voice - Theme
- Leading the Energy of the class - Marketing
We will uncover and unlock things that unless you delve in a training of this magnitude, practitioners of many, many years go unaware. That leads us into the next paragraph:
The Subtle Energies
We will discuss in great length the Subtle Energies of the Body.
This includes:
- Pranyamas - The Mudras
- The Chakras - The Shat Karmas
- The Nadis - The Gunas (The Bhagavad Gita)
- The Bandhas - The Pancha Pranas
- The Doshas - And, general topics of Ayurveda.
Important to all of these are the many Paths of Yoga; teaching seniors, pregnant and injured and/or restricted students.
We will cover the Limbs of Ashtanga as we delve into our reading of Patanjali Yoga Sutras, and The Four Agreements.
We could go on and on, but we will direct you to peruse the 200 Hour Syllabus. Please click on that tab.
My RYT-200 hour yoga teacher training experience with Triad Yoga & Pilates cannot be summed up in words, only experience. It has allowed me not only to learn about this philosophy and way of life, but it has also allowed me to find the balance I've sought after and enabled me to accept my purpose in life as a mother, wife, friend, sister, and daughter. I recommend it to anyone who is serious and dedicated to yoga not as a physical practice, but a path to spiritual growth.

I can't begin to verbalize the experience of taking YTT with Newton. It was an experience that truly expanded my understanding of Yoga, and made me realize how little I know, and how much more I have to learn about the practice of yoga. The insights I gained, not only about yoga, but more importantly about myself, are indispensable both to my practice and my life. Even if one never intends to teach, I highly recommend taking the YTT 200 hours with Newton. It opened up my practice to a whole new level. Before YTT I thought I had reached my limits, after YTT I realized I have not yet begun. Add to that the amazing relationships I fostered with my classmates who are now sisters and brothers to me. I can't imaging what my life would be without having experienced this program. It's not just about yoga, it's about finding an new perspective on life, touching my own soul and the soul of others in a deep and intimate way that has bonded us together as soul mates.

200 Hour YTT Graduate Spring 2016, Irvine, California
A few years ago I discovered Triad, and subsequently decided to take the Summer 2015, 200 hour YTT. My motivation was simple, I wanted to improve upon my own personal practice. Unlike others in the class who were motivated to teach, I had no intention or desire to teach others. I would often tell Newton that I lacked the courage to teach, and he would simply flash his preciously gentle smile and reply, "Just wait." Somewhere before the 200 hours were completed, the conversation shifted. I became aware that Newton understood something that I hadn't yet realized; it's virtually impossible to hold back the vast amount of knowledge one has come to acquire. I had reached a point in which I wanted to share the information I had learned in my own way. With Newton and Mark's help, I was able to find and create a space within myself that allowed me to push myself beyond the boundaries of my state of comfort. As Yogi Bhajan states,"If you want to learn something, read about it. If you want to understand something, write about it. If you want to master something, teach it.” Blessings to you Mark and Newton for your genuine grace and humility despite your accomplishments. Thank you for creating a space which allowed me to expand myself beyond my own mat, and helping me realize that this is only the beginning.

I attended Triad Yoga & Pilates yoga teacher training in Oct/Nov 2013. I loved the personal, small group setting that Triad offers. My favorite part is they give you the option to teach classes and build confidence once you graduate the 200 hour training! Thank you Mark & Newton. Namaste. Love, Amy 🙏🤙😊
